Diabetes prevention: NefroCenter in 7 squares across Campania. This year, too, the NefroCenter group is mobilizing for World Diabetes Day. Once again, as many as 7 squares in Campania will host the mobile units offering free screenings to citizens. All citizens who wish to will be able to have a diabetes consultation and a blood glucose measurement to find out whether they are at risk of diabetes. On the same day, an important initiative is also planned at another of the group’s facilities in Campania: the Casa di Cura Santa Rita in Atripalda.

For World Diabetes Day, in fact, the NefroCenter group has promoted a special prevention day at the Casa di Cura Santa Rita in Atripalda, scheduled for November 14 itself. A special ophthalmology package will be available, including retinal photography (retinography) and optical coherence tomography (OCT). The latter is a non-invasive examination and is essential for the diagnosis and monitoring of numerous eye conditions. Thanks to its ability to provide detailed and precise images, OCT makes it possible to intervene early and to improve patients’ quality of life.

In the squares for prevention

The NefroCenter group will carry out free screenings for the population in as many as three provinces of Campania. In the province of Napoli, the stands will be set up in four municipalities. In Castellammare di Stabia, in Piazza Matteotti, in front of the State Railways station. In Torre Annunziata, meanwhile, checkups will be carried out in Corso Umberto I, and in San Giovanni a Teduccio in the area in front of the church of San Giovanni Battista.

In Nola, on the other hand, the group’s healthcare staff will be at Piazza Duomo. In the province of Salerno, there will be screenings in Piazza Amendola in Nocera and in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele III in Cava de’ Tirreni. In the province of Avellino, blood glucose checks and diabetes consultations will be available in via Ramiro Marconi in Mercogliano, near the Pro Loco. The checkups will be carried out by the specialists of AID Stabia in Castellammare di Stabia, AID Oplonti in Torre Annunziata, AID of Nocera Inferiore, AID of Nola, LID of Napoli and AID Irpino in Mercogliano.
