Casa di Salute Santa Lucia recognized as a Center of Excellence by the Italian Society of Obesity Surgery and Metabolic Diseases for 2026
The Casa di Salute Santa Lucia in San Giuseppe Vesuviano, a facility of excellence of the NefroCenter Group, has been officially recognized as a SICOB Center of Excellence for obesity and metabolic disease surgery for the year 2026 by the Italian Society of Obesity Surgery and Metabolic Diseases (SICOB).
The recognition certifies compliance with the highest clinical, organizational and care standards set by SICOB and places the facility among the national reference centers for bariatric and metabolic surgery.
At the Casa di Salute, as in other facilities in Campania, the Group’s Obesity Treatment Center, directed by Dr. Giuseppe Iovino, is in fact active. The center offers multidisciplinary pathways dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of obesity and metabolic conditions, integrating surgery, clinical follow-up, nutritional and psychological support and specialist care.
The accreditation recognizes a model of care based on clinical appropriateness, multidisciplinarity, qualified activity volumes, continuity of follow-up and integration into national registries, confirming the constant commitment of the NefroCenter Group to ensuring safe, effective, innovative treatment pathways oriented to patients’ quality of life.
This result is a further step in the growth and qualification of the NefroCenter network in the treatment of chronic and metabolic diseases, strengthening the role of Casa di Salute Santa Lucia as a hub of excellence in Italian healthcare.
