Nefrocenter, as a new core partner of the Accelerator program, took part in the Health&BioTech Accelerator event of Deloitte Officine Innovazione at the Deloitte GreenHouse in Milano. Giovanni Lombardi represented the healthcare group at the round table, highlighting the reasons that led Nefrocenter to join this initiative and the areas of innovation that will be crucial to respond to emerging healthcare challenges in the coming years. The program aims to identify the most promising startups and scale-ups in the healthcare and biotech sector that focus on the main trends in Life Sciences and Healthcare.

Alongside the ‘A voce d’’e creature Foundation

For years Nefrocenter has been committed, with entrepreneur Giovanni Lombardi personally involved, to supporting the foundation of Don Luigi Merola, the anti-Camorra priest behind ‘A Voce d’‘e creature, which keeps young people with difficult family backgrounds off the street. Last month, Don Luigi Merola first had the car he uses for the foundation, a Fiat Panda, damaged, and then the car was also stolen. To help the priest continue his work, the Nefrocenter group donated 5,000 euros to the foundation to repair the car. A concrete gesture that allowed Don Luigi Merola not to stop for even a single day, even in the face of intimidation and difficulties. The foundation wanted to thank the group with a post.

Caring about everyone’s health: Giovanni Lombardi, the entrepreneur, among the children

On March 15, 2024, Nefrocenter held a meeting at the Istituto Superiore Morlano in Caivano. Kidney health was explained to the students, also by entrepreneur Giovanni Lombardi. On World Kidney Day, in fact, the Nefrocenter group chose not only to offer free checkups to citizens in several squares in the Napoli area, but also to explain to young people how to prevent kidney disease. The nephrology specialists, in collaboration with school principal Eugenia Carfora, gave a mini course on the lifestyles and behaviors to adopt to protect kidney health. Some students also learned how to measure blood pressure.

Event for the Gabriella Fabbrocini Foundation

The Nefrocenter group was among the sponsors of the Gala of the Gabriella Fabbrocini Foundation. Entrepreneur Giovanni Lombardi, who knew the late Dr. Fabbrocini personally, attended the evening. The Foundation’s purpose is Gabriella’s vision, that is, a more supportive and inclusive society, with physical and psychological well-being guaranteed to everyone. A mission that fully matches the vision of the Nefrocenter group, which was founded so that the necessary care could be guaranteed to all patients on dialysis, and which went on to become an absolute leader in nephrology and expand into all areas of healthcare thanks to the competence and professionalism it has shown.

Initiatives in every field for entrepreneur Giovanni Lombardi and the group

The closeness to the University of Napoli Federico II has led the Nefrocenter group of founder and entrepreneur Giovanni Lombardi to take part in initiatives of the highest standing. The latest was in May 2024, when Federico II put the role of sport at the center of the celebrations for the eight-hundredth anniversary of the University’s founding. Nefrocenter supported the Federico II tournaments, sporting events in different disciplines that featured as many as 64 teams. The teams in the various disciplines, made up of students, professors, assistants and administrative and technical staff of Federico II, took part in competitions in which the Nefrocenter group was the main sponsor.

The partnership with Napoli football club

In 2021 the Nefrocenter group started a partnership with the Napoli football club. The sky-blue club and the company founded by Giovanni Lombardi, an entrepreneur with a passion for football, created a collaboration in which the group took on the role of healthcare partner of the sports club. During the home matches of the Neapolitan team played at the Maradona stadium, Nefrocenter provides its professionals and its vehicles to ensure healthcare assistance for spectators.

The Nefrocenter group was essential in managing the celebration of Napoli’s league title. Stations with healthcare staff were located at several points in the city. In some cases, Giovanni Lombardi personally greeted the staff on duty, the entrepreneur having seen the great organization of the healthcare team. Some significant interventions were carried out, but for the celebration of the Napoli league title, Italian champions 2022/23, everything went smoothly and there were no dramatic events despite the crowds in the streets celebrating the team of Luciano Spalletti.

A group that feels like family

Giovanni Lombardi, the entrepreneur who has always been close to the great Nefrocenter family, wanted to celebrate nurses on the International Nurses Day dedicated to them, on May 12.
