Il prof. Raffaele Russo<\/strong>, Professore Straordinario di ortopedia e traumatologia presso la Facolt\u00e0 di Medicina e Chirurgia \u201cVincenzo Tiberio\u201d di Campobasso, vanta nel suo Curriculum 19 anni di Primariato di Ortopedia e Traumatologia dell\u2019Ospedale dei Pellegrini di Napoli<\/strong> con Direzione del Dipartimento delle Emergenze e di Direzione della Seconda Unit\u00e0 Operativa di Ortopedia.<\/strong> \u00c8 considerato uno dei Padri fondatori della chirurgia della Spalla e del Gomito in Italia con Esperienza certificata di Eccellenza Europea in questo campo. Ricostruzioni della testa omerale
Con tecnica del Bone Block, messa a punto dal Prof Russo nel 2006.<\/strong>
Con l\u2019utilizzo di un innesto osseo, artificiale oppure prelevato dal paziente o dalla banca dei tessuti, si compensa la perdita di osso trabecolare della testa omerale, gravemente danneggiata. L\u2019obiettivo \u00e8 il ripristino dell\u2019anatomia originaria della testa omerale. L\u2019innesto viene stabilizzato mediante una placca a stabilit\u00e0 angolare, che consente un\u2019immediata mobilizzazione post-operatoria, favorendo un rapido recupero della funzione articolare.<\/p>

Instabilit\u00e0 recidivanti con perdita ossea: <\/strong>Interventi combinati per stabilizzare l\u2019articolazione e ricostruire la glenoide e l\u2019omero nei casi di lussazioni ricorrenti vengono effettuati con procedure artroscopiche o a cielo aperto in base alla complessit\u00e0 dei casi.<\/p>

Shoulder Surgery<\/h3>\n\nReconstruction of the humeral head
With the Bone Block technique, developed by Prof. Russo in 2006.
Using a bone graft, artificial or taken from the patient or from the tissue bank, the loss of trabecular bone of the severely damaged humeral head is compensated. The goal is to restore the original anatomy of the humeral head. The graft is stabilized with an angular-stability plate, which allows immediate post-operative mobilization, promoting a rapid recovery of joint function.\n\nRecurrent instability with bone loss: combined operations to stabilize the joint and reconstruct the glenoid and the humerus in cases of recurrent dislocation are performed with arthroscopic or open procedures depending on the complexity of the case.\n\nComplex joint replacement: the team deals with the implantation of reverse or anatomical prostheses in patients with severe osteoarthritis or massive rotator cuff tears, and with revision in cases of failed prostheses. Degenerative diseases of the rotator cuff are treated arthroscopically, including with tendon and muscle transfers.\n\n

Elbow Surgery<\/h3>\n\nElbow arthroscopy: a minimally invasive technique used to diagnose and treat stiffness and impingement, remove intra-articular loose bodies and perform surgical debridement.\n\nTreatment of epicondylitis\/epitrochleitis: open or arthroscopic operations to remove the degenerated tendons.\n\nCubital tunnel syndrome: decompression or transposition of the ulnar nerve, often necessary for tingling and weakness in the hand.\n\nElbow replacement: total prosthetic replacement or radial head replacement for severe osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and fractures or their outcomes.\n\nTendon and ligament surgery: repair of the biceps or triceps tendon and reconstruction of the medial or lateral collateral ligament of the elbow.\n\nTreatment of stiffness (arthrolysis): release of internal and external adhesions to restore full movement of the elbow.\n\nTrauma: reduction and fixation of fractures or stabilization in cases of dislocation.\n\n

Major Trauma Surgery<\/h3>\n\nComplex hip fractures: surgical treatment of articular, unstable or multiple fractures of the proximal femur, including in emergency situations, using high-precision reconstructive techniques.\n\nNonunion and post-traumatic infections: management of bone nonunion and chronic bone infections, with removal of implants, bone grafts and dedicated stabilization.\n\nReconstruction of bone defects: bone transport techniques, implantation of substitutes or biomaterials and the use of stem cells to promote regeneration.\n\n

Advanced Arthroscopy<\/h3>\n\nMinimally invasive hip and knee surgery: we use arthroscopic techniques to address meniscal and ligament injuries, synovitis, hip impingement and cartilage problems, all with a less invasive approach that promotes faster recovery.\n\n

Advanced Diagnostics<\/h3>\n\nHigh-field Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI): we use state-of-the-art equipment with 1.5T and 3T magnetic fields, which allows us to obtain very high-resolution images of joints, muscles, tendons, spinal cord and spine.
