Given the centrality and complexity of the nervous system in controlling all bodily functions (motor, sensory, cognitive, vegetative), the scope of neurology is extremely broad and varied. Our specialists manage very common and often disabling conditions such as primary headaches (migraine, tension-type headache) and sleep disorders (insomnia, sleep apnea), as well as complex, chronic, and progressive diseases such as neurodegenerative diseases (for example, Parkinson&#8217;s disease and parkinsonisms, dementias such as Alzheimer&#8217;s disease and vascular dementia, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis &#8211; ALS), epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, cerebrovascular diseases (ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, TIA), peripheral neuropathies (diabetic, inflammatory, compressive), and muscle diseases (myopathies, myasthenia gravis). The patient&#8217;s journey includes a thorough neurological examination, which involves a detailed medical history and a complete neurological physical examination. If necessary, the diagnostic process is supplemented with neurophysiological tests (EEG, EMG), neuropsychological studies for cognitive function assessment, and advanced neuroimaging techniques (MRI, CT scan).
