The diagnostic process involves thorough clinical evaluations (interviews, sleep diaries) and specific instrumental examinations such as polysomnography, a comprehensive overnight test that records various physiological parameters (EEG brain activity, eye movements, muscle tone, respiratory flow, blood oxygenation, ECG).
